Immediate Management of Anaphylaxis Level 3

This 1-day training course is for qualified First Aiders and Emergency First Aiders to enable them to recognise and treat anaphylaxis safely and effectively.

Anaphylactic shock, or anaphylaxis is a life-threatening serious allergic reaction to an allergen such as food substances or insect stings. If it is not treated appropriately, it may cause death.

This course is suitable for all First Aiders and healthcare professionals, as well as those in a high-risk environment where such medication is available.

  • Understanding anaphylaxis
  • Identify triggers
  • Life threatening problems with Airway, Breathing & Circulation
  • Casualty assessment
  • Safe use of an adrenaline auto-injector
  • Recovery position
  • Resuscitation CPR & AED

Oxygen Therapy Administration Level 3

This 1-day training course enables users to administer oxygen safely and effectively, for casualties with breathing difficulties.

Delegates will learn how and when to administer oxygen to a casualty and the safety measures required when carrying, storing and administering oxygen.

This course is suitable for qualified First Aiders, Emergency First Aiders, dental practitioners and dental care professionals, nurses, healthcare professionals and others working in an environment where oxygen is available for casualty welfare.

The range of subjects covered on this course includes:

  • Benefits of oxygen therapy
  • Indications and contra-indications of its use
  • Basic airway management
  • Dangers of compressed gas
  • Safe use, storage and handling of oxygen
  • Equipment safety checks
  • Selecting correct delivery devices

This qualification lasts for 3 years. To renew the qualification, learners will need to retake the full course. However, it is recommended that during the 3-year period, the learners attend annual refresher courses.
